I am a senior lecturer in the School of Psychology at Aberdeen University. I run the Face Research Lab with Lisa DeBruine and am a graduate of The Perception Lab in St Andrews.

03 October 2008 » Filming has just finished in our lab for The Science of Sex Appeal, to be shown on The Discovery Channel in December.
18 September 2008 » Ben and Lisa gave a talk on “Hormone-mediated face perception” at Innovate with Aberdeen. The research we will talk about has been reported by the BBC, The Telegraph, The Herald, The Scotsman, The Independent and The Evening Express.
08 September 2008 » Ben gave a talk in the “Faces, Words and Brains” session at the British Academy Festival of Science in Liverpool. Several media outlets, including the BBC (Declaring Love Boosts Sex Appeal), reported our talk.
01 September 2008 » Ben Jones' article on Perceiving Beauty was published in the ESRC Society Now magazine.
28 July 2008 » Congratulations to our postgrad, Claire Conway, who successful defended her PhD thesis today.

04 June 2008 » The lab went to Kyoto, Japan for the annual conference of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society and presented a total of 8 pieces of research. We also saw some snow monkeys.
